When people get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor, describe their symptoms and receive the appropriate care. With our furry family members, it’s not always this straightforward. Because animals can’t speak, they can’t tell us when something is bothering them.
What’s more, many pets are able to hide the signs of illness, allowing it to develop and worsen undetected.
Veterinary diagnostics allow us to identify and treat health concerns in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can vastly improve the odds of a positive outcome.
30th Street Animal Hospital’s on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have results in just a few minutes. This means we can have a treatment strategy in place before you and your pet even leave the hospital.
When a physical exam and lab work aren’t sufficient for reaching a diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging technology, including x-rays and ultrasound. These tools let us evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity.
Images can be analyzed in real-time by our team or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.
